India PIN Code is an independent informational directory. Postal records are compiled from structured datasets imported and maintained by the site administrators. A dataset may originate from public, government, reference or other structured sources, and the quality or update date of the original source can differ from one dataset to another.
The directory does not automatically describe every imported row as an official India Post record. Where a page does not show a source citation, use the information as a directory reference and verify time-sensitive or operational details with the relevant postal authority before relying on them for an important shipment, application or deadline.
Visitors can report a suspected error from individual PIN and place pages. Reports are placed in a review queue and never overwrite postal records automatically.
An “updated” date on this site reflects when the directory record was refreshed here. It should not be interpreted as an official publication date from India Post unless a source explicitly says so.

How to Cross-Check a PIN Code
For an address or parcel, compare the six-digit PIN with the recipient’s exact locality, district and State or Union Territory. Start with the India PIN Codes Directory when you know the code, use the Post Office & Place Directory when you know the locality, or browse the State & Union Territory Directory when you need to narrow the location geographically.
When a PIN page lists several places or post offices, do not assume those place names are interchangeable. Use the exact locality supplied by the recipient. For official or time-sensitive postal information, cross-check with the Department of Posts (India Post) or the relevant postal authority.
Corrections & Data Quality
Large postal datasets can contain spelling differences, legacy administrative names, incomplete office details or information that later changes. That is why individual PIN and place pages include a correction form. A submitted correction is reviewed before any directory record is edited, and visitors are encouraged to include a reference URL when one is available.
